The “M” in Las Mariposas Stands for Microphones!

Charlitas can be found on our YouTube channel: Latino Leadership Northwest and Spotify: Charlitas - The Mariposas. Support the Mariposas (it would mean the whole world!!) by tuning in each month, liking, commenting, and sharing.

So head on over to our channels and watch our first episode of our podcast Charlitas!

We also want to give a HUGE shoutout to our esteemed values board member, Alexis Espinoza, and his company, Media Mountain Productions, for their unwavering dedication and hard work in supporting our emerging leaders!

It’s true! Our collegiate and high school interns, also known as the Mariposas, have embarked on a new journey: Charlitas! An engaging and insightful podcast hosted by our very own Mariposas: Alma (our intelligent butterfly), Jair (our pun-master butterfly), Luis (our student athlete butterfly), Pamela (our sassy butterfly) , and Sam (our dramatic butterfly). Broadcasting from the heart of Vancouver, Washington, this podcast is dedicated to exploring a wide array of topics that resonate with both the local Latino community and a broader audience. Each monthly episode will have a blend of exciting opportunities, resource sharing, and relatability as the interns and surprise guests share their knowledge through storytelling.

Providing listeners with a rich and diverse perspective on life in Vancouver as Charlitas aims to empower, educate, and connect. Specifically in issues related to education, career development, cultural identity, and community involvement. Listeners can expect an authentic and vibrant atmosphere where the voices of young Latino leaders are amplified. The Mariposas, with their unique experiences and backgrounds, bring a fresh and relatable approach to each topic, making Charlitas a must-listen for anyone interested in the Latino experience in the Pacific Northwest (and even beyond!).

Want to know even greater news?!! The very first episode of Charlitas is out now! In the pilot episode, The Power of our Voice, listeners will have the chance to meet the mariposas, LLNW’s very first interns. This episode aims to explore their internship experience, shed light on the creation of the group, and provide insights into their personal journeys and contributions.
